Selezione Piero has been created as a tribute to the work of Pierluigi Talenti, who has worked passionately with sangiovese over the years. A vineyard measuring 1.95 Ha, not far from the winery, with unique soil and climate characteristics, distinguished from all the others by its attributes of constant quality. The slightly sloping land, surrounded by forests and rich in galestro clay, enjoys south-easterly exposure at an altitude of 410 m MSL. It is here that Pierluigi developed his personal clonal selection in the 1970s. Intense and persistent in character, with a ruby red color and elegant tannins. Wine ages for at least 24 months in tonneau and rests in bottle for several months waiting for release.

Temperature controlled maceration and alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks (28-29°C). Wine ages for at least 24 months in French oak tonneau (500 lt) and rests in bottle for several months before release
Intense red color, complex fresh aroma and rich in hints of ripe red fruit, plum, blackberry and raspberry, which combine with the spices of aging such as chocolate, tobacco and licorice. Powerful and tonic on the palate with good balance and softness, finally the tannins are sweet and elegant
This wine is particularly suited to accompany red meat, game, cold meat and wild boar ragu. Recommended service temperature: 18°C

Funkelndes Rubin mit Granatschimmer. Sehr klare, präzise Nase, nach Brombeere und dunkler Kirsche, feine Gewürznelken im Hintergrund. Singt am Gaumen, fein- maschiges Tannin in vielen Schichten, baut sich lange auf, saftige Beerenfrucht, sehr langer Nachhall, im Finale noch et- was Holzüberhang, der sich aber gut ein- bauen wird.

Brunello di Montalcino 2015, la grande annata
Profondo nella matrice sensoriale ben coniuga la potenza estrattiva delle sostanze polifenoliche ed antocianiniche con la piacevolezza delle dolci note floreali. Ricco e complesso rivela nel calice sentori di prugne nere, more, incenso e legno di sandalo con fiori di lavanda e fiori di magnolia. Una buona speziatura domina la scena secondaria con chicco di caffè e pepe nero. Corpo pieno, tannini incredibilmente setosi nella forma che accarezzano il palato ed un finale piena espressione territoriale che manifesta una delicata potenza con la mordenza e la giusta progressione. Meglio dal 2022. Un vino perfetto, un vino divino.

Deep red with ruby tinges. Sassafras, black cherry jam, ink, herbs and balsamic oils on the nose and in the mouth. Wonderfully sweet, rich and deep, but with near-perfect balancing acidity to frame the wine's lush fruit. Finishes with noble tannins and palate-saturating persistence. Though not the most graceful example of Sangiovese you’ll ever taste, its power and esh are not so extreme to make it taste caricatural or over the top. By far one of the best wines from Talenti in many years, this superb 2015 Brunello has it all; I add that readers who are more impressed with size rather than nuance will like it even more than I.

Auch am Gaumen reife, präsente Frucht, feinmaschi- ges Tannin in vielen Schichten, das mit fei- nem Schmelz unterfüttert ist, funkelt, sehr gute Spannung, langer Nachhall.

Würzig-dunkelbeeriges Parfum; kompakte Textur mit vifer Säure und engmaschigen Gerbstoffen, im Finale facettenreich mit Noten von Morellen, Leder und schwarzem Pfeffer. Gefällt mit seiner Komplexität und seiner intriganten Entwicklung. Empfehlenswert zu einem Filet Wellington.
